AgorIP supports SMEs throughout Wales to help commercialise their innovations, bringing them to the market and helping to make the business a success. The team can support at various stages of the process, by procuring specialists in areas including (but not limited to); market research; feasibility studies; patent filing; prototype development; funding commercial mentors; specialist market reports.
Our team has supported numerous SMEs with their innovations since 2016. Each project is unique, so we tailor the support and needs around the type of innovation brought to us. Below are some examples of the support our Technology Transfer Managers have given recently:
- Arranged support to the sum of £6,000 towards technical support for field trials
- Obtained £6,000 towards Intellectual Property protection
- Obtained £5,000 to produce a specialist marketing report
- Supported the development of an upgraded prototype at a cost of £4,000

AgorIP runs open calls for projects to come forward for funding support several times a year so please look out for the latest SME Open Call via the website or our LinkedIn page.
Due to our funders’ audit criteria and the University’s procurement policies and procedures, the funding allocated per SME project will be administered between the University and the 3rd party supplier facilitating the service for the company. No direct payments will be made from the University to the SME.
